About

I'm Akash Patel, a mechanical engineer from Boston University (B.S. 2025, M.S. 2026). Most of what I know I learned by building: my senior capstone was a client-sponsored test walkway for Vibram, my master's coursework ran a product from seven concept sketches to a mass-production plan with priced tooling, and with the BU Robotics Club I designed and machined the end effector on AgroBot, the tomato-harvesting robot that took First Prize and the Audience Choice award at the MassRobotics Form & Function Challenge in June 2026.

The through-line is that I like owning the physical half of a machine: the mechanism design, the CAM and machining, the tolerances, the assembly that a technician could actually service. I'd rather show you a requirement table with an unmet row and explain why than a highlight reel.

I finished my M.S. this year. What I'm looking for now is a team building something big, where I can own a subsystem and carry it from requirements to working hardware.
